形態特徵

Shrubs or arborescent.
Leaves simple, alternate, coriaceous, lanceolate or linear-lanceolate, 6–12 cm long, 0.5–1.5 cm wide, acute to acuminate at apex, attenuate at base, entire, glabrous on both surfaces, green above, paler beneath, the lateral veins over 20 pairs, inconspicuous; petiole short, 4–6 mm long, glabrous.
Inflorescence shortly terminal paniculate about half as long as leaf. Flowers dioecious or monoecious, unisexual or hermaphroditic, small, yellowish green to about 4 mm across; sepals 5; petals absent; stamens 8 in the male flowers, filaments very short, anthers rather large; ovary ovoid in female flowers, 3-celled, style slender, stigma 2-lobed.
Fruit a samara, compressed, 2-winged, the wings about 1 cm long, 1–1.2 cm wide. Seeds ovoid or rounded, black, shining.

分布

台灣 : from seashore to 1500 m high in altitude throughout the island on exposed field or riverside.
世界 : Pantropic.
